How to become a freight train engineer?

First and foremost, you need to be physically fit. You will be required to move 20-40 thousand pounds, without any excuses and under minimal oxygen; this means you’re going to need conditioning beyond just your regular workout routine. Poor training contributes towards a lower fitness level. To make the most of this opportunity(s), I recommend spending a few months in college taking physics courses (math, statistics etc.), since there are opportunities related to mathematics within the oil fields that make this specific job especially desirable. Second, you must know how to read a train schedule backwards and forwards in order for it to become part of your nonverbal communication; an appealing trait for any sort of business where customer speciality is key. Third, for “true” freight train experience, I would suggest buying a set of economy class tickets from Switzerland with Spanish as the native tongue, not least because you’ll be travelling “poolside”, which will ride out most problems on time management issues (conflict with languages does happen of course).
